Take-Two has announced it has 10 next-generation titles in development that will launch before the end of the 2015 financial year.
According to Take-Two executives, the developer has 10 titles in development, the majority of which have yet to be announced.
“Looking ahead to fiscal 2015 and beyond, we have a strong development pipeline for both traditional and emerging platforms, including revolutionary new intellectual property and offerings from our existing franchises,” said Take-Two President Karl Slatoff.
The titles are a mix of new IP and sequel games it seems, according to the information divulged during the Take-Two earnings call.
“For example, last January, we purchased the intellectual property for Evolve from THQ. This next-generation title is currently in development at Turtle Rock Studios, the renowned creators of the innovative, co-operative first-person shooter, Left 4 Dead. In addition, 2K recently opened a new Bay Area studio, focused on developing an exciting next-generation title.”
Take-Two has yet to offer much information on the Evolve title beyond some concept artworks that suggests the game will be a sci-fi shooter featuring giant insects.
“These represent just two of the more than ten unique titles in our pipeline for next-generation consoles, which includes multiple releases planned for fiscal 2015. We understand and appreciate that both our consumers and shareholders are eager to learn more about our release schedule, and we expect to begin unveiling titles during the next several months.”
It has been speculated that RockStar Games and Take-Two will release a version of GTA 5 for Xbox One and PS4, but the company declined to comment on these rumours. However, it didn’t quite rule it out either.
“We haven’t discussed any plans for GTA, at all, in relating to next-generation. So nothing to say there.”
