Microsoft has released a new official Xbox One video that shows off the new dashboard and how it can be controlled using Kinect.
The Xbox One dashboard video sheds some more light on how easy the Kinect makes traversing the various features of Microsoft’s next-generation console.
Although the new video isn’t that long, Microsoft has made neat work of showing how you can jump quickly between features and have two apps running side-by-side using Snap Mode.
Microsoft’s interactive video highlights that the Xbox One will offer a personalised home screen for each user, complete with Windows 8-style live tiles.
Using Kinect, the console automatically recognises anyone entering the room and the Xbox One will promote your favourite content on the home screen.
The Xbox One will also introduce an “Advanced Reputation System”, which will rank people clearly and consistently, so you know who to let in and keep out of your games.
Paired with this, the Xbox One can offer smarter matchmaking to pair you with similar online players for your skills and abilities.
You can also switch instantly between various functions with a simple voice command, as the Xbox One now has enhanced multi-tasking capabilities.
This includes Snap Mode that will let you run two apps side-by-side, which Microsoft suggests is especially useful with Internet Explorer alongside a movie or other content.
Skype will now run in HD on the Xbox One too in full-screen, which can also be controlled using Kinect voice commands.
The Xbox One release date has been scheduled for November 22 in the UK and will retail for £429 complete with the Kinect motion gaming peripheral.
It will launch a week earlier than the PS4 release date on November 29.
