With wearable specialist Misfit having taken its first steps into the smart home space earlier this month, the company has now revealed it has plans to launch ‘several home products’ this year.

While the Misfit Bolt, a smart, connected light bulb was something of an unexpected announcement at CES 2015, the Misfit Shine maker has suggested it is only the start of a wider smart home push.

“We are going to do several other home products this year,” Sonny Vu, Misfit’s Founder and CEO said speaking with TrustedReviews recently.

Although failing to offer any concrete details on finalised future home products, Vu hinted that Misfit will target multiple areas around the home on its pursuit for more convenient living.

“The idea is to continue to connect the home with the ecosystem and just make life a little easier,” he said.

“If we can add functionality that you didn’t have before, that you couldn’t have before, then we will.”

Although Misfit has yet to formally price or date its Bolt bulb for a European release, techy lighting system will launch stateside alongside a $50 (£33) asking price.

Capable of being controlled via your smartphone or existing wearable device, the Bolt – which can be cycled through multiple colours – utilises Bluetooth connectivity options to communicate with your mobile devices.

Syncing with your Misift Flash wristband, the Bolt can keep tabs on your sleep pattern, gradually lighting up as you naturally wake up.
