Apple's next iPhone could feature Force Touch technology, as well as a new pink colour option, according to a new report.
During its recent Spring Forward event, Apple launched a new MacBook and the Apple Watch, both of which feature Force Touch technology. This enables a touch-sensitive surface (whether a screen or a touchpad) to register degrees of pressure as well as movement.
The Wall Street Journal's supply chain sources claim that Apple will integrate this same Force Touch technology into the next iPhone (likely called the iPhone 6S) towards the end of the year.
The report speculates that the new technology would spawn new application features, using the example of "a piano-playing app that would make different sounds when touched lightly or more heavily."
Other than that new piece of touch technology, the iPhone 6S display will remain similar to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus variant, with the same 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen options and the same resolutions.
One minor design difference, claims the report, will be the introduction of a pink colour option to add to the existing silver, gold, and space grey colours.

The report does add the caveat that these features are currently in testing, so there's no guarantee that they'll be implemented into the final iPhone 6S design.
However, we are nearing final design decision time, with mass-production of some of the final iPhone 6S components seemingly set for May.
