UK retailer Carphone Warehouse is now allowing customers to register their interest in what it is calling the ‘New Samsung Galaxy,’ as well as the forthcoming HTC One release.

Although Samsung will not officially announce the Galaxy S6 until its Unpacked event at MWC 2015 on March 1, fans who wish to be kept in the loop can make it known to the high street chain from today.

Pre-orders cannot be made yet, but Carphone says it’ll keep users posted on all the news once the handset is announced.

On the retailer's ‘coming soon’ page, it says: “Get ready for What’s Next. Leave your details with us and we’ll let you know everything that happens at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event on 1st March.”

The development comes just a few hours after Carphone announced a similar scheme for the forthcoming HTC One M9 device.

Shortly after HTC’s confirmation it’d be showing off the ‘new HTC One’ at MWC, the retailer offered users the chance to jump aboard the pre-reg bangwagon.

The forthcoming battle between the HTC One M9 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 promises to be one of the most intriguing in the 2015 tech calendar.

Both firms’ flagship handsets have enjoyed commercial and critical success in recent years with Samsung usually enjoying the former and HTC edging the latter.

This year, for the first time in recent memory, both devices will be announced on the same day, giving smartphone buyers an early opportunity to nail their colours to the mast.
