Despite the handset having yet to enter the realms of reality, a leading UK retailer has already started letting consumers register their interest in the upcoming HTC One M9.

Scheduled for a grand unveil in the days leading up to MWC 2015, earlier today HTC announced that ‘the new HTC One’ would be formally showcased on March 1.

Now, jumping on the pre-release hype, Carphone Warehouse is looking to capitalise on early interest for the forthcoming Galaxy S6 rival and is looking to get wannabe owners to pledge their allegiance to the M9 early.

While eager punters can’t yet pre-order the handset – no pricing or release date info is currently available – Carphone is letting you register your details to be kept in the M9-themed loop.

There is a lot of excitement surrounding the newest HTC device, so much so, that from today Carphone Warehouse customers are able to pre-register their interest on the Carphone Warehouse website,” an official company spokesperson announced.

They added: “Stay on the all with the latest from HTC. Leave your details with us and we’ll keep you posted on all the exciting news surrounding the new HTC One.”

Expected to retain the same 5-inch, 1080p Full HD display as its predecessor, the M9 has been tipped to run everything from Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 810 processor to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD.

What’s more, around back a 20-megapixel, OIS-enhanced camera is expected to feature while a 4-Ultrapixel secondary snapper will be located around front.
