Apple is considering setting up a dedicated stores to hawk its forthcoming Apple Watch, according to reports on Thursday.

The firm is currently building several displays within high-end retail outlets in Paris in order to show off its fancy new smartwatch, according to a Fashion Mag report.

If the displays are a success, the firm would spin the idea off into a much larger number of stores-within-stores or new dedicated Apple Watch outlets. according to 9to5Mac sources.

These locations will be constructed “if demand deems [them] necessary,” the report claims.

It would certainly not be a surprise if Apple chose locations outside of its Apple Store to sell the timepiece.

Earlier this week, in the heavily-publicised Jony Ive interview in the New Yorker, Ive suggested future Apple Stores could have 'VIP areas' where exclusive items like the gold Apple Watch Edition would be sold.

The Apple design guru recounted a story of a conversation overheard in China when one man reportedly said: “I’m not going to buy a watch if I can’t stand on a carpet.”

Apple Stores, in all of their sterile, pristine, immaculate glory, currently do not have that requisite floor adornment.

The Apple Watch will go on sale in the United in April, with details of an international roll out still unclear.
