With the Internet of Things set to be one of the big trends of 2015, Parrot’s CEO has predicted a future where ‘every product will have algorithms built in’.
From smartphones and wearables to home appliances and clothing, sensors and data-transforming algorithms have started to appear in all manner of devices in recent years.
According to some, however, this is just the beginning of an all-encompassing movement where every item, electrical or not, will collect data and communicate between themselves.
“I think, in the near future, every product will have algorithms built in,” Parrot’s founder and CEO, Henri Seydoux stated.
Speaking exclusively with TrustedReviews, he added: “In modern tech, the move is to bring algorithms into things. I think a lot of products will have a lot of algorithms inside, including things like headsets.”
Not limiting this smart revolution to consumer tech items, Seydoux has suggested sensors, connectivity features and cross-communication options will be omnipresent in the wider world.
“Every electronic item will have a lot of algorithms, but none electronic items too,” he suggested.
“I’m not sure how many algorithms a t-shirt will get, but I’m sure it will get some.”

While predicting an imminent future of algorithm-filled devices, Seydoux has revealed his hopes that this technology will filter out slowly in order to allow Parrot to remain a diverse and wide ranging company.
“Parrot is an open book for new ideas but each of those ideas are difficult and very technical,” he said.
“I hope that other companies will all continue to do the same things and let me try something different.”
