Claimed Google Nexus 8 pictures leak ahead of I/O launch

With Google’s I/O conference just around the corner, latest leaks have claimed to show off the heavily rumoured Google Nexus 8 tablet.

Having been the subject of much speculation in recent months, claimed Google Nexus 8 pictures have hit the web courtesy of MyDrivers, with the teased tablet shown to feature some very sizeable bezels.

While we must stress these latest leaks should be taken with a considerable pinch of salt, the teased images show a device with a number of similarities to the existing Nexus 7.

The oversized plastic frame of the mooted device make is difficult to get a true sense of the tablet’s screen size, although as its name would suggest, it is believed the Nexus 8 will boast an 8-inch display.

According to the latest leaks, the Nexus 8 will be powered by a 64-bit processor and 3GB of RAM.

Finalised Nexus 8 specs are still thin on the ground, but latest reports have suggested the tablet will act as a launch platform for an all new Android 4.5 operating system.

The leaked images have shown the claimed Nexus 8 brandishing some sizeable Google-themed graphics but this is believed to be a simple image as opposed to any dramatic Android overhaul.

Although Google has yet to officially acknowledge the existence of such a device, it is widely expected that a Google Nexus 8 release date will be announced during the company’s Google I/O developer conference on June 25.
