The LG G3 will be unveiled before June 30
LG has confirmed that the heavily rumoured LG G3 will indeed be its next flagship phone, making reference to the handset within its Q1 financials report.
With the LG G3 having been the subject of multiple leaks and countless rumours in recent weeks, the phone has now been confirmed, with the Korean manufacturer even revealing that the phone is heading for release before the end of June.
Having confirmed that it shipped an impressive 12.3 million smartphones during the opening three months of the year – generating revenues of $3.19bn in the process - LG’s Q1 financial results report went on to tease what is coming next, referencing the LG G3 by name.
"Higher revenues are expected in the second quarter with the release of the flagship LG G3 smartphone and wider roll-out of the mass-tier L Series III,” the company officially stated.
With Q2 ending June 30, LG has inadvertently confirmed that the LG G3 will enter the realms of reality within a matter of weeks.
Recent LG G3 rumours have claimed the LG G2 follow-on will play host to a broad array of premium innards, with a 5.5-inch edge-to-edge display tipped to land with a stunning 2560 x 1440 pixel QHD panel.
Further LG G3 specs tipped to feature include a revised 13-megapixel camera, an integrated fingerprint scanner and the same 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor as the market leading Samsung Galaxy S5.
The latest Q2 LG G3 release date tease fits with past indications offered up by the company that the future flagship would land earlier in the year than its predecessor. The G2 hit UK retailers on October 1 following an August unveiling.
