Samsung Galaxy K teased in official Instagram video

Samsung has teased the upcoming Samsung Galaxy K smartphone in an Instagram video ahead of tomorrow’s event.

The invites for the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom launch event on April 29 at the Singapore Red Dot Design Museum went out earlier this month and just ahead of the official unveiling Samsung has decided to tease us.

In the Instagram teaser video suggests that the Galaxy K will be a Samsung Galaxy S5 variant with a strong camera focus, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom.

Although the video doesn’t show the phone itself, it shows a device zooming in on the Singaporean Red Dot Museum, suggesting the Galaxy K will have an optical zoom lens.

The attached caption also confirms that the event will be focused on a Galaxy device, as it states:

“Meet #TheNextGALAXY. Join us for a live update on April 29 at 11AM SGT.”

The Galaxy K is expected to feature a 20-megapixel camera with a 10x optical zoom, paired with a 4.8-inch 720p HD display.

This is quite a boost on the Galaxy S5’s camera, but pales in comparison to the 5.1-inch full 1080p HD display on the 2014 flagship.

The camera-centric smartphone is also expected to feature a 2-megapixel front facing camera, with the device running on a hexa-core Samsung Exynos 5 5260 processor.

By the looks of the leaked pictures of the Galaxy K, Samsung has refined the design so that it looks less like a compact camera with a phone strapped to the back and more like a smartphone.

If the Singapore event starts at 11am tomorrow, expect to hear some Galaxy K related news around 4am BST thanks to the time difference.
