A Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update is seemingly on the cards with the software leaking ahead of an expected mass rollout in the coming weeks.
Although Android 4.4 KitKat is believed to be heading to the realms of reality later this month aboard the heavily rumoured Google Nexus 5, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is yet to be bestowed with the latest iteration of Jelly Bean. This looks set to change though with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update having leaked once again.
Tipped as a “final build”, it is claimed that the latest leaked Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update is exactly what S4 owners can expect when the software is officially rolled out, well almost. Responsible for the leak, serial Samsung tipster Sammobile has claimed that the prematurely unveiled update is identical to the final build “expect [for] a few bug fixes and improvements here and there.”
The Android 4.3 update will bring only minor changes to the handset beyond the phone’s current Android 4.2 .2 internals.
While the formal Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update has been mooted for release “within 1-2 weeks,” the leaked software can already be downloaded to S4 handsets using the tipster’s handy how-to guide.
Although those desperate for their Android 4.3 Jelly Bean themed update can add the upcoming software ahead of time, we cannot recommend doing this before alerting you to the risks.
With the leaked software listed as “test firmware” which is “a pre-release firmware and not official from Samsung,” adding it to your S4 can pose the risk of bricking the phone.
What’s more, adding the pre-release software will cause your Samsung Galaxy S4 to be wiped, with all data, including images, and contacts lost as the software forces a pre-install reset.
