EE launches sub-£20 4G plans alongside 4GEE Extra

EE has confirmed a new range of 4G contracts, with the network set to introduce both a wallet-friendly sub-£20 deal and 4GEE Extra options for heavy users.

Rejigging its 4G tariff fees following the recent introduction of its double-speed service, EE has announced that, from later this month, it will offer a two-tiered contract system, with standard 4GEE plans lining up alongside data heavy 4GEE Extra deals. The news comes as the network announced the UK’s first 4G pay-as-you-go plans.

This month we are launching new plans for light users, super users, regular users, data sharers and Britain’s mobile workforce up and down the country,” Olaf Swantee, CEO of EE said. “One year after launch, we’ve extended the world’s fastest network across 60 per cent of the United Kingdom. But we want to bring the power of 4GEE to even more people.”

With the new 4GEE plans to see wannabe customers able to join the 4G movement from just £18.99 per month, the entry-level tariff will see handsets paired with a lowly 500MB data allowance, 1000 inclusive minutes and unlimited texts.

Two further standard 4GEE plans are set to be made available with 2GB and 5GB monthly data allowances. These will start from £23.99 and £29.99 per month respectively, depending on the bundled smartphone, and will incorporate unlimited calls and texts. Users of all three standard 4GEE tariffs will be offered 4G speeds up to 30Mbps.

For those with more demanding online needs, the new 4GEE Extra tariffs start from £26.99 per month with a 4GB data allowance, and go up to £74.99 with a massive 50MB of data included. The two addition stops along the way see 10GB and 20GB deals priced at £32.99 and £37.99 respectively. All 4GEE contracts are held over a 24 month period.

As well as providing larger data allowances, the 4GEE Extra plans offer faster speeds, with downloads up to 150Mbps being touted by the network. On top of this, all Extra plans offer inclusive calls and texts from 30 countries around the world, including the US, Europe and Australia.

Swantee stated: “Whether customers want the flexibility of pay as you go, the UK’s most affordable monthly plans, or to make the most from their smartphone with the world’s fastest speeds and biggest data bundles, EE is the number one 4G network.”
