YouTube Choose View

Video streaming service YouTube is testing a new feature which would allow users to watch the same video from multiple angles.

A video of musician Madilyn Bradley has appeared on the site, giving visitors the opportunity to “Choose Your View.”

The clip, taken from the YouTube Music Night performance (via Engadget), enables users to switch between four angles by using the left and right arrows or the numbers 1-4 on the keyboard.

The idea is for a seamless transition between angles as users enjoy the clip, although in our brief tests it’s advisable to let the stream load a little bit for optimum performance.

It remains unclear whether the firm is planning to introduce this feature for more videos, but it would certainly be effective with music videos, theatre performances, festivals and sporting highlights.

On its Google Plus page, the YouTube Creators account wrote: “Your videos bring your fans front and center, behind the scenes and everywhere in between. But what if your fans could choose from different camera angles of the same video while that video is playing?”
