OnePlus has released a teaser trailer pointing to an imminent Android 5.0 update for the OnePlus One.
Just a couple of weeks ago, CyanogenMod revealed that its custom take on Android 5.0 Lollipop would be out in February.
Now we're in February, and OnePlus has essentially confirmed that Lollipop is almost ready for its CyanogenMod-powered OnePlus One.
This confirmation has come via a YouTube video, titled "The OnePlus One just got a little sweeter. Coming soon!"
The video simply shows a OnePlus staff member going through the customary Android 5.0 easter egg process on a One Plus One handset, which produces a Lollipop splash screen and, eventually, an Android-themed Flappy Bird clone.
The message is clear: we've got Lollipop running on our phone. Indeed, the blurb below the video (which was posted yesterday) states "Lollipop is almost here."
This is relatively swift work from the startup Chinese smartphone manufacturer. While the code for Lollipop was released to manufacturers in November, so far only 1.6 percent of all Android handsets have been updated to the latest version.

To place that in context, crusty old Android 2.3 Gingerbread is on 7.4 percent of Android phones in the world.
If you OnePlus One owners didn't feel like you were in an exclusive club already, it seems you will do very soon.
