Music streaming service Tidal has today announced it will be launching in 22 new countries, the majority of which are in Europe.
The high-fidelity lossless streamer went live last October exclusively in the US and UK, but now hopes to begin ‘rapid expansion’.
Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Finland, and Ireland also currently have access to the service, added after the UK/US launch.
The full list of new countries getting access to Tidal reads as follows: Austria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, South Africa, and Turkey.
Tidal says it hopes to launch the service in the aforementioned nations during the first quarter of 2015, and says it will be available in 30 countries by the end of March.
Andy Chen, Tidal’s CEO, said: “We continue to accelerate our expansion, as demand for our product keeps rising.”
“Besides directly from consumers, we are also seeing a very strong growth from new home audio partners.”
Chen added: “We now have 37 confirmed partners to offer Tidal across the broadest selection of home audio systems.”
