Sony Xperia Z1f - currently a Japanese exclusive
The Sony Xperia Z1s has been spotted on the official Sony Mobile website, but has since been pulled.
Sony may have leaked its upcoming international version of the Sony Xperia Z1 mini on its own website, having already launched the Sony Xperia Z1f as a Japanese exclusive.
The Xperia Z1s appeared briefly on the Sony Mobile website, but the link didn’t actually lead to any product page listing full specs for the device.
However, it does suggest that there could be a mini version of the Sony Xperia Z1 arriving for international markets. Hopefully, the Z1s will have the same, or similar, specs as the Z1f.
Sony Xperia Z1F Features
Sony launched the Xperia Z1f as a 4.3-inch 720p HD resolution display with a powerful 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM.
Like the Sony Xperia Z1, the Z1f has a 20.7-megapixel ½.3-inch Exmor RS CMOS sensor, Sony G Lens and a Bionz image processing engine.
The rear camera also has f2.0 and a 27mm wide angle lens, as well as 3x digital zoom.
Running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the 4.3-inch handset is waterproof, dustproof and made from glass with aluminium finishes like the Sony Xperia Z and Sony Xperia Z Ultra.
It comes with 16GB of internal storage and measures up at a rather large 124 x 65 x 9.4mm. The Z1f also weighs a fairly hefty 140g, but that’s probably due to the supercharged components contained within its svelte frame.
The Xperia Z1f is powered by a 2,300mAh battery, smaller than the 3,000mAh unit in the Xperia Z1, but that shouldn’t affect battery life because it has a smaller, lower resolution screen to support.
Sony is offering Japanese consumers the Xperia Z1f in black, white, lime and a rather shocking pink.
