Microsoft has announced that the launch events for the Xbox One will be live streamed though Xbox Live and at Xbox.com.
Commencing at 11pm Eastern time on November 21 (4am GMT), the launch will feature performances from both Deadmau5 and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
Making the announcement, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President of Marketing and Strategy, Yusuf Mehdi, expressed the company's desire to "invite millions of Xbox fans around the world to join us for the launch of the Xbox One."
He added the event is set to be the "biggest launch in the history of Xbox” and that the tech giant “can't wait to celebrate with our fans."
For those feeling left out, fear not, the UK will host its own launch event in central London, where fans will be entertained with celebrity appearances, surprise performances and get a chance to indulge in gameplay.
Following the live launch event, eager gamers can continue their celebrations in London's Area One, where Microsoft will provide Xbox One games to play, whilst fans wait for a special midnight store opening.
Set to hit the UK and US simultaneously, an Xbox One release date has been pencilled in for November 22, a date now less than two weeks away.
Having had a tumultuous start to life with gamers objecting to Microsoft’s original plans to block borrowed and pre-owned games, the Xbox One has gained favour with consumers since its unveiling. Microsoft confirmed earlier this year that day one Xbox One pre-orders have already sold out, although retailers are expected to have in-store stock at launch.
An Xbox One price has been set at £429, a full £80 more expensive that the rival PS4, a console which will hit the UK just seven days after the Xbox One.
