Motorola has confirmed that all Moto 360 devices will get the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update by today.
The push began on December 10, and has since been staggered over several days to ensure a smooth roll out.
The update is called ‘Coral’ and adds a bunch of new features to the Moto 360, not least the new ‘Theatre Mode’.
Putting the Moto 360 in Theatre Mode means the watch screen will not turn on unless you press the side button.
This is in contrast to the default mode that sees the display become active should you raise your wrist – a dead cert to drain the battery when driving.
Also added are third-party watch faces, which now means you can choose, download, and install new watch faces on the Google Play Store directly through your Moto 360.
A new undo button has been added for card dismissal too, just in case you mistakenly swipe away a card during hasty screen-groping.
Quick Settings is also a major addition to the platform, accessed by swiping down from the top of the screen.
Included in the new settings panel are Theatre Mode, Sunlight Mode (for quick max brightness), an interruption manager, and nippy access to the full settings.
The Android Wear update also bags a bunch of battery and storage stats as a result of the update, letting you see time-left projections, app usage breakdowns, and remaining storage space.
Around 50 per cent of users should have received the update by December 13, but Motorola has promised that all Moto 360 units will have access to it today.
It’s worth noting that you won’t be able to back down once you upgrade – downgrades are strictly forbidden.
