The Sony Xperia Z3 specs sheet has leaked again as the upcoming handset passes network certification tests in China.
A handset which is proving hard to keep under wraps for Sony, the Xperia Z3 has once again been shown to feature an array of innards markedly similar to those of the existing Xperia Z2.
Surfacing courtesy of certification tests by TENAA, the Chinese equivalent of the FCC, the latest Z3 leaks fit with the phone’s previous premature outings.
Seemingly highlighting the unnecessary need for Sony to have twice annual flagship phone refreshes, the Z3 has been shown to run the same 5.2-inch Full HD display as its predecessor.
Further similarities include an identical 20.7-megapixel rear-mounted camera, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage – again expandable via microSD.
Despite adopting a slimmer (7.35mm down from 8.2mm) and lighter (158.4g from 163g) body, the only other hardware difference of note between the Z3 and the Xperia Z2 is the marginal switch from a 2.3GHz to a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor.
Expected to run Google’s latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS, the Sony Xperia Z3 is widely expected to be formally unveiled during Sony’s IFA 2014 press conference on September 3.
