Spot the difference

This is the best look yet we've had at the HTC One (M8) running Windows Phone.

The image leaked courtesy of Windows blog Neowin. As you can see, the handset looks identical to the HTC One (M8) we know and love, except it's running Windows Phone instead of Android.

The identical styling is no bad thing. The One (M8) is dripping with design kudos, making it one of the best handsets of the year. Only the iPhone 5S can hold a candle to it in terms of premium styling.

Word is the Windows Phone version will support HTC's Dot View case as well, so you can see the time and weather without taking out the handset. It should also recognise gesture controls through the case.

The specs look identical to the standard HTC One (M8) too. It's reportedly got a 5-inch 1080p screen, quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, and 2GB of RAM.

32GB of storage comes as standard, though you can bulk that up with a microSD card up to 128GB in capacity.

The same ultrapixel camera is also present and correct, as is the 5-megapixel front-facer. Ufocus will also be standard, so you can change the focal point of a photo after you've snapped.

HTC's BoomSound speakers sit above and below the screen, giving unparalleled sound.

We've not long to wait for official confirmation on the handset. The HTC One (M8) with Windows Phone is expected to be announced today. We'll let you know as soon as we hear anything regarding a price and release date.
