Breaking Bad setting highlighted via Street View

Have you ever fancied taking a trip to the fried chicken restaurant where Walter White conducted some of his shadiest business? Or survey the sandy kingdom ruled by Game of Thrones’ Daenerys Targaryan?

Now you can. Well, sort of.

A spot of shameless Hollywood promotion it may be, but ahead of this weekend’s Emmy Awards ceremony, Google is using its utilising its Street View nous to give fans an up close look at the settings of nominated shows.

Breaking Bad fans can whisk themselves off to Twister’s restaurant in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which is the eatery transformed into Gustavo Fring’s Los Pollos Hermanos for the purposes of the show.

If it’s HBO’s Game of Thrones that occupies many of your televisual fantasies, you can gaze around Aït-Ben-Haddou, in Marrakech - the setting for Yunkai, a city conquered by the Mother of Dragons during the most recent season.

Highclere Castle, where Downton Abbey is filmed, is also featured, as is Freddy’s BBQ Joint in Baltimore, House of Cards’ Frank Underwood’s favourite eatery.

The Street View listings allow users to interact with the surroundings by clicking and zooming and dragging the cursor, while they can also click a series of photos in order to tour the area from different perspectives and new locations.

“While we can’t get you a ticket to the awards, Google Maps can at least make you feel like an extra on the set of your favorite show. Happy (Street) viewing!” wrote Google on its Long Lat blog.
