Having already been offered early looks at the phone’s screen and new form factor, latest leaks have teased the iPhone 6 battery ahead of launch.
With Apple’s next-gen smartphone set to adopt a larger, 4.7-inch design, the Cupertino-based manufacturer has more internal space to play with.
Fortunately, it looks like Apple is set to use this space wisely, with a new, 1810mAh Lithium-Polymer battery leaking ahead of its claimed iPhone 6 inclusion. In contrast, the existing iPhone 5S is powered by a 1560mAh power supply.
Although the larger iPhone 6 display will require a bit more juice to run, this larger battery should ultimately result in a little extra staying power.
Shown to have been manufactured in June, these leaked iPhone 6 batteries will be put to good use later this year. The iPhone 6 has been widely tipped for a September 9 unveiling, with the phone to hit retailers the following Friday, September 19.
As well as a larger battery, the eagerly awaited iPhone 6 has been tipped to add a new A8 processor into the mix alongside iOS 8 and a Sapphire Glass coated display.
One of two new handsets expected to spew from the depths of Apple HQ this year, the iPhone 6 is expected to be followed by the company’s first ‘phablet’ offering – a 5.5-inch iPhone 6 spinoff.
This oversize handset will reportedly benefit from an even larger battery, with a 2100mAh offering teased for inclusion.
