The US federal communications commission has published photos that appear to be of Samsung's latest tablet, the 10.5-inch Galaxy Tab S and documents confirm fingerprint scanner.
The tablet, which is the largest device to feature an AMOLED screen, and could have a stunning resolution of 2560 x 1600 on its 10.5-inch screen. We're also expecting three versions, a Wi-Fi only one, the T800 that is shown in this FCC documentation, the T801 which is a 3G version and an LTE-equipped T805.
It's reasonable to predict that the new device will run KitKat too, and we'd expect to see a UI style much more like the Samsung Galaxy S5 with that new Tizen look of flat icons everywhere, and a move away from the TouchWiz style we're used to. We're also anticipating the new Magazine UI to be used.
The FCC documents show that there are two antennas built in, both handle Wi-Fi at both 2.4 and 5GHz frequencies, with one also handling Bluetooth. The document also shows that the device measures 246.5mm by 176.4mm. Also revealed are some unsurprising things like support for Ant , used in heart rate monitors and other fitness equipment. There are also rumours the tablet will have an octo-core processor and an 8-megapixel rear camera.
Also revealed though, is that there are three "major changes" two are boring, the location of the antennas and the external socket, but the third is very interesting and confirms the presence of a fingerprint scanner in the device.
