The HTC One Mini M8 has just gained regulatory approval, suggesting a launch is imminent.
The Taiwanese National Communications Commission (NCC) has just been paid a visit by the HTC One Mini M8, which is a strong indicator we could see the phone announced before the end of the month.
It was approved by the NCC on May 5, adding fuel to rumours the phone’s release date is on the imminent horizon.
This news follows leaked European pricing details for the smaller screen and lower spec version of the HTC One M8 flagship.
According to two separate Finnish online retailers, the One Mini M8 will be priced around €520 SIM-free, equating to a UK price tag of approximately £425.
If these prices are correct, the One Mini M8 will be considerably more expensive than the original HTC One Mini and its £380 RRP.
The 2014 Mini should pack fairly decent mid-range specs though, hopefully following a similar ilk to the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact.
Rumours suggest the One M8 Mini will feature a 4.5-inch 720p HD display with a dual-core 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor under the hood. This is quite a downgrade from the quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor found in the HTC One M8.
It seemingly won’t pack the UltraPixel dual-sensor camera though, instead featuring a still impressive 13-megapixel sensor.
The One Mini M8 should also come with 16GB of internal storage with the phone running Android 4.4 KitKat and the latest version of HTC Sense UI.
So far there’s no official word as to when the HTC One M8 Mini will be released, but we’ll keep you posted on any updates.
