PES 2015 release date tipped for September 26

The PES 2015 release date has been tipped for September 26 by an online retailer.

Although Konami has yet to reveal an official release date for this year’s edition of the football simulator, the Italian arm of online game retailer GameStop has listed a September 26 release.

What makes us think that this may have some truth to it is that September 26 is a Friday, which is the usual day for game launches in Europe.

So far, Konami has only confirmed a PS4 release for the game, but Microsoft fans will be pleased to see GameStop Italy also lists the game for Xbox One, alongside previous generation Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms.

As you may have heard, there’s something a little different about PES 2015 and that’s that it is being co-developed by a new UK-based studio to help ensure the game appeals to a European audience.

“I cannot give details on exactly what we are doing with the UK studio, but they are working on the next project and look at the needs of the European people. It’s about globalising the franchise, so it is not just being developed by Japanese people,” said Konami Europe boss Shinji Hirano.

“We know what’s been going wrong with PES, we are working on that. The next version is totally changed. 2014 is a transitional year for the franchise, so expect big things.”

The UK PES development studio was established way back in 2012, so has been working on the game for a couple of years.

It’s not clear yet how the UK co-development will change the game, but it could help the series better rival the FIFA titles.
