The Motorola Moto G just got even better, with the budget handset updated to add 4G connectivity support.
Having previously been locked to 3G networks, the new 4G Moto G has been unveiled alongside a new sibling, the barebones Motorola Moto E.
Offering the same, impressive array of specs at an affordable price, the 4G Motorola Moto G differs only in its speedier, LTE connectivity options.
“People really wanted access to faster networks and they wanted to expand their mobile storage at their own means,” Steve Horowitz, Motorola’s Senior Vice President of Software Engineering said in marking the announcement.
He added: “This is exactly the same Moto G, but with 4G.”
As well as introducing 4G connectivity, the refreshed Moto G also scraps the 8GB and 16GB storage options, instead adding microSD storage expansion.
With 4G comes some added costs, but the 4G Moto G is still easy on the wallet. The 4G handset will set wannabe owners back just £149 when it hits the UK in the coming weeks.
On a 4G Moto G release date, Horowitz stated: “We are going to be launching this in the coming weeks and in the UK it will cost £149, unlocked, no contract.”
Despite is affordable price The Motorola Moto G features a 4.5-inch, 720p HD IPS display alongside a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM.
Currently available around the £100 marker, the Moto G specs sheet is further enhanced by a 5-megapixel rear-mounted camera and a secondary, 1.3-megapixel snapper up front.
