Xbox One update arriving February 11, another coming in March

Microsoft has announced that the first Xbox One update will arrive on February 11, followed by a second in March.

The first Xbox One update will arrive next week, with a second arriving on March 4 to prepare your console for the Titanfall release date.

“I’m excited to be able to share details with you today about several product updates we’ll be delivering for Xbox One starting next week,” said Marc Whitten, Corporate Vice President of Xbox. “The team has been really excited to see the gameplay on Xbox One and the millions of hours of fun our fans have experienced since launch.”

The February 11 update is based on the comments made by Xbox One gamers and will introduce many new improvements to Microsoft’s next-gen console.

Although Microsoft has yet to reveal all the enhancements arriving with the first update, there are a few details available today.

“}It features many new improvements – including lots of behind-the-scenes updates for developers building apps and games for Xbox One, several new features we believe Xbox fans will love, stability and product updates to improve the customer experience and continuous improvements to the quality of Kinect voice, so commands become more fluid and responsive over time.”

Some of the features in the February 11 update include the ability to see and manage Xbox One storage space, and the option to control your install line-up so you can prioritise the things you want most.

To compliment this, there will also be a boot progress indication, in order to let you know how the install is going.

Smaller updates include the reappearance of the battery power indicator for your Wireless Controller on the screen, and the ability to use a USB keyboard with the Xbox One.

The second Xbox One update on March 4 is centred around the Titanfall release date, which is March 14 in the UK.

“On March 4, in advance of what is expected to be the biggest game launch of the year, we will be delivering another system to prepare your Xbox One for Titanfall. This update will contain many new features and improvements, most significantly to our party and multiplayer systems.”

This is all Microsoft is giving us on the duo of new updates for now, but it certainly sounds like the February 11 update will be rather significant to the improvement of your Xbox One experience.
