EA has teased the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup game, suggesting the football sim will not be made available for the next-gen Xbox One and PS4.

Set to launch ahead of this summer’s tournament in Brazil, the 2014 FIFA World Cup game will be developed by the FIFA 14 maker but, according to the EA released teaser image will only be launched for the now outdated Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles.

Despite having confirmed its work on the project back in October last year, EA has yet to offer many firm details on the upcoming World Cup game.

Remaining cagey on the title, EA has today Tweeted a teaser image for the upcoming game alongside the unrevealing message: “The World Cup… #Itsinyourhands.”

Although finalised release plans are yet to be confirmed, the teaser image is adorned with the PS3 and Xbox 360 logos only, with no reference to Sony’s and Microsoft’s latest console offerings.

EA has been responsible for releasing the FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro tie-in games since 1998. Up until 2012 all titles were launched as dedicated games although the most recent title was made available as a DLC offering built upon the year’s FIFA 12 base.
