HTC One 2 homescreen leaks, points to hardware refresh

Ahead of the phone’s formal unveiling the HTC One 2 leaks are coming thick and fast, with the handset’s refreshed homescreen now making a premature appearance.

Yet another future phone titbit to surface courtesy of the reliable Twitter-based tipster @evleaks, the teased HTC One 2 homescreen has added to reports that the HTC One follow-on will do away with soft-touch keys in favour of making the trio of Android controls completely digital.

Whereas the HTC One feature physical soft keys for the home, back and menu Android controls, the HTC One 2 looks set to place its navigation buttons on the screen, a move that will free up hardware space for a larger display in a similarly sized body.

There are no other notable HTC One 2 homescreen differences teased by the leaked images, suggesting the second-generation handset’s Sense UI could be largely similar to the original.

Recent HTC One 2 leaks have suggested that the inbound Samsung Galaxy S5 rival, also doing the rounds under the moniker of the HTC M8, will be launched at a dedicated post MWC 2014 event in March.

Leaked HTC One 2 specs have pointed to a new, larger 5-inch, 1080p Full HD display being included alongside a revised dual-sensor camera. A premium, metal unibody design is expected to feature.
