iPhone 5C prototype spotted in the wild?

Potentially the first complete iPhone 5C prototype has been spotted in the wild, held by Taiwanese pop star and race driver Jimmy Lin.

Ahead of the rumoured iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S launch on September 10, this could be the first image of the complete prototype budget iPhone.

According to Lin, he’s holding the first complete iPhone 5C prototype. Previously, we’ve only seen the back panel of the iPhone 5C, complete with component chassis.

Of course, in these images Lin still only shows off the rear of the iPhone 5C, which may well mean it’s the same casing we’ve already seen a fair few times.

Earlier this week, the budget iPhone 5C leaked again in video form, lining up against the iPhone 5 in an early video comparison.

Lin also presented a still shot of the iPhone 5C sidled up to the iPhone 5 in his Weibo post.

Expected to launch on September along with the iPhone 5S, it may not be too long a wait for official confirmation on the existence of the iPhone 5C.

iPhone 5C Features

The iPhone 5C is strongly expected to rival mid-range smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and HTC One Mini .

Reportedly available in six to eight colours, it seems Apple is abandoning its usual black and white releases in favour for a more rainbow orientated offering. This would also support the rumour that the C in iPhone 5C stands for colour, rather than any indication of price.

Unfortunately, it has been suggested that the iPhone 5C may not include certain software features like Siri, which will couple with its plastic body to keep the price low and differentiate it from the flagship iPhone 5S.

The iPhone 5C is meant to be one of the first devices to run iOS 7 straight out of the box and could launch with similar specs to the iPhone 5. This means we could expect Apple’s A6 processor, 1GB of RAM and 4G connectivity.
