Rockstar Games has completely changed the official GTA 5 website homepage, offering gamers an interactive travelogue for Los Santos and Blaine County.
GTA 5 fans are invited to explore the adventures offered by Los Santos and Blaine County this September when the game launches.
“Visit Los Santos and Blaine County. Where plastic surgery, bad movies and big sharks rule the roost – see for yourself…” reads the official website.
The interactive travelogue is split into twenty panels detailing different experiences to be had in Los Santos and Blaine County, which combine to create the full GTA 5 map.
Rockstar outline the possibilities offered by Los Santos including “fast cars at your fingertips”, the “thriving economy and commerce” hinting at the new options to play the stock exchange, “affordable healthcare”, “shopping and glamour”, “accessible air travel” and “beaches and watersports”.
The travelogue also outlines that the neighbourhoods of Los Santos and Blaine County are very friendly, although we expect that the description is laced with sarcasm.
“The streets are alive with all kinds of characters who coordinate clothing colours and enjoy leisurely pursuits such as territory clothes and pharmaceutical commerce. Stop and chat with a member of The Epsilon Program for some enlightenment, or head to Blaine Country, where they always extend a helping hand to outsiders.”
The acitivities available in the great outdoors are also described, where “hunters and adventurers can find great sporting challenges across our Blaine County countryside.”
“Bring a rifle to hunt for dangerous game, hike to the peak of the majestic Mount Chiliad, or hire and plane and parachute from on high.”
The GTA 5 screenshot bank has also been updated to reflect the introduction of the interactive travelogue, including showing Trevor exploring the great outdoors on his quad bike and through the scope of his hunting rifle.
The Art & Downloads section has also been updated to include two new GTA 5 wallpapers. The first shows Franklin and Michael preparing some weapons for a heist, but the second introduces a new character – Nervous Ron.
As yet it isn’t clear what part Nervous Ron will play in the GTA 5 storyline, but Rockstar describes him as “Trevor’s acquaintance” so he’s bound to be quite a character.
GTA 5 will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 17.
