Too little too late?
Unless you've been hibernating, you will have noticed that both the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live were hacked at Christmas, meaning gamers couldn't play with their new consoles online. Sony is looking to make amends.
This weekend, it will hold a 10 per cent discount sale to apologise for the outage. The sale starts on Sunday at 9am UK time, and lasts until Thursday at the same time.
PS Plus subscriptions, Music Unlimited and video rentals aren't eligible.
To get the discount, you'll have to enter the code at the checkout. The code will be available on the PlayStation Store and via the @PlayStation Twitter account.
For any PS Plus members affected by the outage, Sony is rolling out a five-day PS Plus member extension. According to the blog post by Sony VP Eric Lempel, you don't have to do anything. If you're eligible, you should get an email confirmation with more details.

The PSN and Xbox Live hack was allegedly carried out by a group called Lizard Squad. A UK man has been arrested in connection with the hack in Southport, near Liverpool.
Lizard Squad offered a tool that let anyone in the world deliver a distributed denial of service attack (DDoS) against any website for $6. Embarrassingly, the group was itself hacked recently, and its entire list of customers leaked online.
The lesson is: crime doesn't pay. If you're that annoyed at someone, why not just ship them some glitter?
