Our phones have a lot of stuff on them: photos, videos, messages, and that's before we get to apps and games. But have you ever wanted to display your most cherished snaps around your home, instead of keeping them trapped in your phone?
Vikaura Screen does just that. The idea isn't exactly new – Bluetooth photo frames have been around for years. But this is a new twist on it.
Like a photo frame, it connects to your handset over Bluetooth, but can also display feeds. For example, you could have it show the weather by the front door, so you'll know if you need a coat before you step out. (Though at the moment, the answer is always yes.)
Using the app, you can also send messages direct to the Vikaura so they'll be more prominently displayed. The theory is you're not going to miss a message that flashes up on the wall, whereas a text won't jump out at you if your phone is stashed in your bag.
You can show recipes on the display, so it also works a bit like a tablet. It'll come in 4-, 6- or 9.7-inch sizes.

The intent is there, but we're not sure it'll take off. Do we really need another device to carry around with us? And can't our tablets and phones do all this already? Bluetooth photo frames have died a death since tablets crashed the scene. O2 also tried something similar with a device called the Joggler a few years back, and that was never heard from again.
It's raised $30,000 of a $125,000 funding target on Kickstarter, with 14 days left.
