Panasonic Lumix GF7
The Panasonic Lumix GF7 has been unveiled, offering another combination of entry-level CSC sophistication and selfie-taking accessibility.
Just last week the Fujifilm X-A2 was revealed as an entry-level interchangeable lens APS-C camera with a flip-around screen and other selfie-enhancing features.
Of course, Panasonic launched its own take on this concept last year in the Panasonic Lumix GF6. The Panasonic Lumix GF7 is its successor
The GF7 is yet another compact and light interchangeable lens camera with a 16-megapixel Micro Four Thirds image sensor.
However, the GF7's stand-out feature is its suite of casual selfie-related features. This includes a 3-inch 1040K-dot display that can be flipped around 180 degrees (in a much simpler way than the GF6) so that you can see what's being shot - even when you're the subject.
Once that display has been flipped up, the Lumix GF7 automatically enters a dedicated selfie mode. This will allow the camera to take a shot once it determines that a face is in view, so you don't have to worry about hitting that shutter button.
You also get the kind of casual selfie functions that you'd expect to see on your Android smartphone rather than a serious compact system camera, such as "Soft Skin" for smoother selfies and "Defocusing" for that pronounced background-blurring effect on your self-snaps.

Otherwise, the Panasonic Lumix GF7 is a subtle refinement of last year's model. In particular, Panasonic reveals that there's an improved "advanced Contrast AF" system at play here, which will speed up and increase the accuracy of autofocus - particularly in low light conditions.
The Panasonic Lumix GF7 will launch in March for £429, which will see the camera bundled with a 12-32mm lens.
