Gazing into his crystal ball
The internet will soon be such a part of our daily lives that we won't even notice it, Google's chairman Eric Schmidt reckons.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where the great and good have gathered to discuss the state of the world, Schmidt was asked for his pronouncements on the future of the internet.
"I will answer very simply that the internet will disappear," Schmidt said, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
"There will be so many IP addresses... so many devices, sensors, things you are wearing, things that you are interacting with that you won't even sense it. It will be part of your presence all the time.
"Imagine you walk into a room, and the room is dynamic. And with your permission and all of that, you are interacting with the things going on in the room."
This will make for a "highly personalised, highly interactive and very, very interesting world", he reckons.

Wearable devices are definitely in vogue at the moment, and they're expected to keep on growing. In the UK alone, the market is predicted to double this year to an estimated 13.1 million users.
Schmidt praised the internet as "the greatest empowerment of citizens in many years". He added: "Suddenly citizens have a voice, they can be heard."
Schmidt was talking on a panel called The Future of the Digital Economy. It also featured Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg.
