Microsoft has revealed some new universal apps that will arrive with Windows 10.
During today's Windows 10 event, Microsoft revealed some new universal apps that will run exactly the same way, regardless of whether your using them on PC, phone or tablet.
First up is the revamped Office Suite. The idea is that you get the full fat version of Office on your mobile device, or what Microsoft is calling a nearly "no compromise version".
Just like with Mac OS X iLife Suite and Google Drive, you'll be able to start something in Office on your PC and pick it up straight away on your phone or tablet - or vice versa.
What's great is that all three Office apps "will come as part of the Windows 10 build on phones."
Outlook has also been given the Windows 10 treatment with a new universal app. Microsoft has built in the full Word engine within the Outlook universal app again, as before, but hopefully they'll fix some of the formatting issues present in previous editions.
Mimicking the functionality of iOS 8, you'll be able to swipe left to delete emails, or swipe right to flag them. That works on the PC version too.
Microsoft also outed a new Photos app, which Microsoft's Joe Belfiore explained will be enhanced by OneDrive.
"On any device you own, even cross-platform devices, we have a OneDrive app that's built in...that uploads your images to OneDrive."
The new photos app will aggregate your photos from all devices to give you a great overview of all your photos.
Any duplicates, burst photos and other clutter will be removed automatically. It can also auto-enhance photos, including removing red eyes and brightening.
Your PC will also be able to auto-create albums from your photos.
