Google for iOS
Google has updated its search app for iOS devices, bringing iPhone 6 support and a new Lollipop-like design overhaul.
The new version, which the firm says has been "completely rebuilt to bring you the best of Google," fits in with the web giant’s new Material Design language which is so prevalent within Android 5.0.
In particular, the app features the new 'Recently' feature which shows all recently-conducted searchers in a rolling carousel of cards just like it does on Google's platform.
The nifty, lightning-fast app also features a new, ever-present Google button which allows you to load the search interface from anywhere in the app.
There’s much deeper integration of the Google Maps platform that makes it much more akin to Google’s own application. Users will be able to swipe and zoom around on the map while also plotting their route home.
Naturally, there’s still “OK Google” voice controls and access to all of the Google Now goodness from within the app.
All in all it’s a pretty slick and noteworthy update from Google which it probably hopes will convince iOS users users to give the full Android Lollipop experience a chance after all.
