Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.0 update teased

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 only launched last week, but Samsung has now suggested a Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.0 update could already be on the way.

With the high-end phablet having been released with Android 4.4 KitKat in tow, the recently unveiled Lollipop refresh looks set to make its way to the iPhone 6 Plus rival in the near future.

Although the Korean manufacturer has failed to announce an exact date of release for the Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.0 update, the company has taken to Twitter to drop some heavy hints about the software drop.

Posting a picture of the Note 4 alongside a lollipop emblazoned image, the company has Tweeted #NoteTheDifference.

The post reads “Anyway you look at it, the #GalaxyNote4 Quad HD Super AMOLED display is pretty sweet. #NoteTheDifference.”

The thinly veiled Android 5.0 Lollipop tease is the latest indication of a flagship phone edging towards the new OS.

Although Samsung has remained relatively tight-lipped around its Android 5.0 update plans, Motorola, HTC and Sony have all confirmed which of their handsets will be joining the lollipop race.

While the Moto G and Moto X have been confirmed to be heading for the new OS when available later this year, Sony has revealed all ‘Z’ branded phones will make the jump, as will the HTC One M8 and HTC One.

Android 5.0 Lollipop was formally announced alongside the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 last week. The operating system will introduce a flatter design alongside a raft of new features, such as expanded notifications, new lock screen options and 64-bit CPU support.
