Always wanted to move a light switch but don't want the faff of drilling holes and all that wiring? Avi-on is for you.
It's a Bluetooth light switch that sticks to any wall, so there's no mess and no fuss. Once on, it syncs with any Avi-on powered plug or light bulb, so you will have to buy into the company's ecosystem, which isn't ideal.
Nevertheless, it is a very cool idea. Pair it, and you can switch the light on and off, and even dim it. There's no hub required, and it's powered by a battery that, the firm claims, will last three years before needing replacing.
And if you get fed up of the light switch always being in the same place, it takes just seconds to move it.
Using the app, you can control your lights and other devices from your smartphone, so you can dim the lights without getting up off the sofa. Which will be a boon for budding Casanovas everywhere.
You can also set timers for when you're on holiday, countdown timers, those for outdoor security lighting, multi-day scheduling, and group any number of Avi-on-powered lights and other gadgets, all from your phone.
Avi-on also makes a range of smart dimmers, smart bulbs and outdoor smart switches which the light switch works with.
It's pretty affordable too. The starter kit is $59 (£37), though you will have to pay $25 for international shipping. The standard retail price is $69 (£43).
