Gold Moto 360 smartwatch prematurely hits Amazon

If black and silver just don’t do it for you, a gold Moto 360 smartwatch has made a premature appearance online.

Looking to bring a bit of business-class style to the round wearable, the gold Moto 360 has been shown not only with an extravagantly hued body, but a new, metal strap. At present the Android Wear watch is available only with leather cuffs.

As well as adding a gold strap option, Amazon’s premature listing has suggested Motorola will offer the new banding in various sizes. Both 18mm and 23mm thick metal strap configurations have been listed.

While Amazon has hinted that the gold Moto 360 is on the cards, the hastily removed listing also suggests Motorola isn’t ready to bring out any new wearable colour schemes just yet.

Far from the first time a gold Moto 360 has been teased, last month the American manufacturer accidentally let slip promotional images of the bling-tastic wearable.

Despite the multiple leaks, Motorola has yet to formally confirm plans to launch such a device.

“Although we can’t comment on gold specifically, we’re always exploring new materials and we intend to provide Moto 360 in a selection of styles in the future,” an official Motorola spokesperson stated recently.

The gold Moto 360 was listed alongside a $299 (£186) price tag, $50 more than the standard £249 (£155) smartwatch.

The Moto 360 officially went on sale in the UK earlier this week, the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live rival will set wannabe British owners back a penny shy of £200.
