BlackBerry has finally revealed that its Q20 Classic smartphone will be landing this December.
The Canadian tech firm announced its qwerty keyboard-toting handset alongside the Passport at MWC earlier this year, but stayed tight-lipped on a launch date.
John Chen, BB’s CEO, has now confirmed that the device will be released before 2014 is out however, making the announcement at the MIT Enterprise Forum in Hong Kong.
“BES12 will launch on November 13, followed by the BlackBerry Classic one month later,” revealed the BB boss.
It’s not clear whether this means December 13 is a dead cert for a Classic release, or whether his comment was more generic.
Aside from a physical keyboard, the new Classic is also set to sport a 3.46-inch display with a 720 x 720 resolution, and a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Plus chip.
There’s also 16GB of built-in storage, 2GB of RAM, a microSD card slot good for a 128GB boost, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 2-megapixel front-shooter to boot.
It’s also carrying a 1515mAh battery – that might sound small, but it’s assuredly plenty considering the teeny display.
Pricing and availability is yet to be revealed for the device, but we’ll keep you posted.
