Asus is due to start flogging the ZenWatch as soon as November, with the Taiwanese firm kicking off proceedings in nearby Japan.
The ZenWatch is Asus’ first foray into wearable tech, announced just last month at the IFA trade show in Berlin.
While there’s no specific date for the impending smartwatch-peddling, Asus has confirmed that it’ll hit store shelves late next month.
The Asus ZenWatch is an unsurprisingly handsome bit of kit, from a firm not estranged from impressive design (read: ZenBook).
The square-faced timepiece boasts curved glass, a tan leather strap, and a brushed aluminium frame.
It’s rocking decent specs too, namely the go-to Snapdragon 400 CPU that’s making the rounds amongst Android Wear fare, as well as 4GB of built-in storage and 512MB memory.
We recently heard that the ZenWatch would also be the first wearable to make use of custom-built Android Wear - ZenWear, perhaps?
We’re not yet sure when the device will make it onto UK soil, but rumours have begun circulating that December 15 could mark the start of international shipping.
The firm is also due to retail its new ZenFone 5 over in Japan soon too, with an official on-sale date set at November 8.
The ZenFone 5 will land with a 5-inch 1280 x 720p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 chip, and 2GB of RAM.
There’s also 16GB and 32GB storage options, and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera to boot.
Asus reckons it’s going to ship somewhere between 7.5- and 8-million smartphones this year.
