The Alpha's five colour schemes all have very jazzy names

Five Samsung Galaxy Alpha colours will be available at launch, the Korean smartphone maker has confirmed.

The manufacturer’s first metal framed Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is pairing premium styling with plenty of colour options, following a trend laid out by the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S5 (four colours) and the LG G3 (five colours).

As well as the customary black and white tones, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha will be made available in a selection of premium shades (gold and silver) and more vibrant options (blue).

This being Samsung, however, the Galaxy Alpha colours couldn’t simply be referred to as black and white, oh no.

The five Samsung Galaxy Alpha colours are officially titled: Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, Frosted Gold, Sleek Silver, and Scuba Blue.

With all five hues expected to hit the UK following the Alpha’s release ‘at the beginning of September’, at least one is set to be a retailer exclusive.

“We can confirm the Samsung Galaxy Alpha will be available from Carphone Warehouse in all colours, with an exclusive launch on the blue colour option,” an official spokesperson for the high street chain told TrustedReviews.

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha is a 4.7-inch precursor to the heavily rumours iPhone 6.

Pairing a metal frame with a screen equal in size to that expected on the next iPhone, the 6.7mm thick Galaxy Alpha boasts a 720p, HD display alongside a 2.5GHz quad-core CPU and 2GB of RAM.

Running the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS, the Alpha’s specs sheet is rounded off by a 12-megapxiel primary camera, 2-megapixel front-mounted snapper and 32GB of internal storage.
