The Motorola Moto 360 battery life could trump those of its existing Android Wear rivals, latest reports have claimed.
With both the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live struggling to make it past 24 hours on a single charge, it has been claimed that the round faced Moto 360 will boast two and a half days of staying power between charges.
Having leaked images of the eagerly awaited smartwatch earlier this month – showing off the device’s wireless charging dock – Italian blogger Luca Viscardi has claimed that, following some time with a prototype 360, he found the battery to survive half a working week.
Despite having officially unveiled the wearable and showcased it on a number of occasions, Motorola has remained coy in confirming finalised 360 specs. As such, it is currently unclear how big the watch’s battery will be.
Having garnered much attention for its stunning, round faced design and sleek, brushed metal finish, the Moto 360 has been confirmed for release ‘later this year’.
Set to benefit from Qi wireless charging capabilities, the 360 will boast an integrated heart rate sensor and will be IP67 certified, meaning it can safely stand up to the odd splash of water.
Despite remaining tight lipped on its own device, Motorola recently criticised the rest of the wearables space, telling TrustedReviews all existing smartwatches are ‘crappy’.
“Moto 360 is a really cool device that we think solves a lot of problems that no one else has solved in the wearables space,” Mark Randall, Motorola’s Senior Vice President of Supply Chain, told us.
He added: “We look at the 360 and we look at what everyone has done in that space. To be honest we think they are all pretty crappy.
“We think people just don’t want to wear a lot of the devices that are out there today.”
