There’s yet another new entrant in the smartwatch race with Chinese manufacturer Huawei debuting the aptly named Huawei Watch at MWC 2015.

Powered by Android Wear, the round Huawei Watch will hit the market in the coming weeks as a direct challenger to the Moto 360 and the LG G Watch R.

Huawei Watch Features

Like most Android Wear offerings doing the rounds, the Huawei Watch features list is markedly similar to those of its rivals.

As well as bringing call and message notifications direct to your wrist, the wearable features the usual array of accelerometers and gyroscopes to accurately track all your daily activities. As well as keeping tabs on your step count and distances covered, the device can monitor calorie burn and even sleep cycles.

With an inbuilt mic allowing for Google Now aided voice commands the Watch will let you search the web and set notifications using nothing more than a few vocal prompts.

Where the Huawei Watch differentiates from some Android Wear devices – we’re looking at the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear 2 here – is in its design.

The device features a sleek, metal frame around a round LCD display. This is set to be accented by a trio of colour schemes.

The metal bodied Huawei Watch will be adorned with silver and black mesh straps or a brown leather band.

Huawei Watch Release Date and Price

Despite having been formally introduced, the Huawei Watch release date is currently unclear. Expected to hit retailers this spring, there is also no official word on Huawei Watch pricing details.
