Harman’s audio electronics firm JBL has just announced the Reflect Response, purported to be the world’s first gesture controlled smart headphones.
These in-ear Bluetooth lug-huggers are packed with motion sensor technology that lets the user control the headphones with little more than a wave.
It’s an effort to tackle the problem of having to fiddle with buttons while working out, so these in-ear buds will find much love from sporty types.
JBL says on-the-go audiophiles will be able to use gestures to control things like playing or pausing audio, as well as controlling tracks and picking up calls.
Michael Mauser, the president of Harman’s lifestyle division, said: “This product demonstrates Harman’s continued drive to use technology for simplifying and elevating consumers’ experiences with their devices.”
“The JBL Reflect Response is the first in the world to offer users command of the audio with only a hand movement, an unprecedented level of convenience and control.”

Design appears to be on point with JBL’s latest fare too, with the headphones rocking an in-the-ear, behind-the-neck sports design.
It’s also got sweat-proof tech built into the material, as well as JBL’s Signature Sound audio.
You can pick up the HBL Reflect Response in red, blue, green, and black, with a reflective outdoor cable also supplied for sporty moonlit jaunts.
Battery life is set at 8 hours too, which should be plenty for all but the most hardened long-distance trekkers.
JBL says the Reflect Response will be available in Europe in summer, and will retail at £129.
