Honor has confirmed it is to bring its affordable Android phones to retail stores for the first time, with Three to act as the UK’s exclusive operator partner.
An entirely online proposition until now, Honor has announced plans to hit the high street at the launch of its latest handset, the Honor 6+.
Although a number of Honor-branded devices are currently available in the UK through e-commerce channels such as Amazon, at present only the Honor 6+ will be handed a bricks and mortar release. This won’t be a blanket release though, the phone will only be offered in select stores.
Three won’t just be holding Honor’s hand on this journey into the big, bad world, either. The network is to act as the exclusive tariff partner for the phone. Although you will still be able to snap up the handset on a SIM-free basis, Three will be the only network offering contracts on for the phone.
“We are delighted to be bringing such an innovative and exciting brand to the UK market,” Sylvia Chind, Three’s Head of Devices and Products said. “The Honor 6+ has already built a strong fan base and it’s a smartphone that can seriously compete with some of the higher end devices out there, minus the hefty price tag.”
Lars Weisswange, Chief Engagement & Communications Officer at Honor Europe, added: “This partnership with Three UK demonstrates that Honor has quickly achieved a strong foot hold in the UK within the first four months of launching as a new brand.
“Three UK and Honor are both brave and innovative brands, which will encourage great synergy and continue to provide fans with high quality and great value devices.”
