Sony has announced that its PS4 console has sold more than 20 million units.
At the beginning of January, Sony revealed that its current console had achieved 18.5 million sales after a lucrative Christmas period.
Now, the company has revealed that the PS4 has hit a major milestone - the 20 million sales mark.
To be more precise, 20.2 million PS4 consoles have been sold from its launch in November 2013 right up to March 1 of 2015. And that means sold to customers, not shipped to retailers.
The mathematicians among you will have calculated that Sony sold 1.7 million PS4 consoles in January and February.
"We are so grateful for the enormous support from PlayStation fans worldwide, and we are truly humbled that gamers around the globe have continued to select PS4 as the best place to play," said Sony Computer Entertainment's Andrew House.

With exclusives such as Bloodborne and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, blockbuster cross-platform titles like Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Batman: Arkham Knight, and indie darlings like No Man's Sky all set for release this year, 2015 should see that figure bumped up considerably.
Of course, Sony can't afford to rest on its laurels, with Microsoft's Xbox One console enjoying a stronger close to 2014.
