British vacuum experts and innovators, Dyson, has just unveiled a brand new product, the Dyson Humidifier, which is on sale now from John Lewis and Dyson's website.
The Humidifier aims to deal with the problem of overly dry rooms, where the relative humidity is too low. Low humidity can lead to dry, irritated skin, exacerbate existing conditions such as eczema and decrease your tolerance to common viruses and allergies.
But the Dyson twist, aside from the fact it's based on the same Air Multiplier tech that powers its fans, is that the Dyson Humidifier kills 99.9% of the bacteria that's in the water tank before it's sent into your room as a fine mist. This ensures the Humidifier won't disperse anything nasty into your home.
The Humidifier is certified as Asthma and Allergy friendly, the first humdifier to be so, and it's also approved by Asthma UK and the British Skin Foundation.
The handy thing about the Dyson Humidifier is that you can also use it as a normal fan, so it's something of a two-in-one effort. It also has similar features to the fans, including the provided remote that's stowed on top using a magnet.

The key feature of the remote is an automatic mode that takes the guesswork out of using the Humidifier. It measures the room temperature, relative humidity and then decides the right level for the conditions – normally between 40 to 60% relative humidity.
Sadly, all this trickery will cost you to the tune of £500, but if you like the look of it then head to John Lewis to see it in action.
And, in case you were wondering, it can't help the opposite problem – it can't dehumidify your home. Hopefully that's next on Dyson's hit list.
